Leeuwenhoek did not publish any letters after 1718 in book form with his own summaries. The summary below comes from Alle de Brieven / Collected Letters.
It is not listed in Early letters L4, so the original Latin MS may be missing. However, a copy is to be found in Letter Book Original vol. 15.80 on pp. 299-303.
The letter was read at the 16 May 1723 meeting of the Royal Society.
In keeping with the request of James Jurin in Letter L-575 of 15 May 1722, Leeuwenhoek had this letter translated from Dutch into Latin, probably by Hendrick van Rijn, before he signed and sent it. It was not published in Philosophical Transactions and no contemporary English translation was made.
